Default Best Way to Ship a Front Bumper?

Hey guys,

I need some help with shipping a front bumper the most economical way possible. Wanted to know how people have done this in the past as I have called around to UPS and Fed Ex and they said they're not able to ship it unless it's freight. I estimated the dimensions to be about 72"x24"x24". I'm planning to take a few boxes and taping them together to make a box that big, but it seems that it'll cost some $$$.

Any advice? Thanks in advance.

PM Hardtopguy (or any other board sponsor and see what advice they can give you). He shipped me one and it was perfect. I don't recall it being all that expensive either.

i would do like you said... make a big box out of a few smaller ones.. definitely use A LOT of padding and make sure its secure in the box... so when UPS stacks other boxes on top it wont collapse.

Neither FedEx nor UPS will accept it. It doesn't fit w/in their dimensional reqs.

Actually, when I worked for FedEx express, we had quite a few bumpers come through. You can ship it overnight...not advisable. FedEx freight is a good alternative, and maybe you can find someone with FedEx Ground to take it.

If you want a good way to ship it but it does take 5-10 days....GreyHound. I have shipped a full kit, a bumper and a fiberglass tonneau cover, not to mention numerous rims/tires that way. They do also have insurance too. You might want to look into that.
