Beware!! Service Bulletin Differences
Like all good Stook owners I have searched and read with interest the Service Bulletins in the Library. I took two of them in with me at my recent 3,750 service. Understand that while my Stook is new, it is a 2000 MY, so I figured I would check out the status of the Service Bulletins.
The first bulletin was for "Buzzing From the Engine of Transmission While Decelerating - 00-054". From reading it I figured I had a new clutch disk coming as long as I brought it in under the warranty limits, and I could wait for a while for that. The Service Bulletin posted in the Library indicates this Bulletin applies to all; HOWEVER, the Bulletin that prints out at the Dealership has a specific caviot that reads "Applies to: 2000 S2000 - From VIN JHMAP1...YT000001 thru JHMAP1...YT007780".
The second bulleting was for "Recall Top Cover" where the covertible top cover can potentially pinch the seat belt causing slack in the belt. This recall is also VIN specific.
Bottom line: Before you make any plans get the full scoop on whether the SB is VIN specific.
Recommendation: It would help if whoever does the posting of Service Bulletins in the Library could include this information for us; might save a step and disappointment.
