Default BI Xenon

So IMO one of the very few bad things about the S is the puke yellow high beam color...anyone replaced that buld with a HID/xenon bulb...if so what brand and was it easy???

there are no H1 HID bulbs. There are xenon filled halogen bulbs, but that's NOT the same thing.

many have put in sylvania silverstars with satisfactory results.

yes, preludes are H1 - but you can't just put an HID bulb in your stock halogen setup and off you go...it doesn't work that way.

you need ballasts etc....

preludes did not have HID. your friend retrofitted them

HID bulbs come in D2R for reflector setups and D2S for projector setups. that's it.

there are people out there who will put on H1/6005/9006/etc bases on HID bulbs, but they don't come that way, that's for sure.

haha of course he installed a retrofit, I must say the cutoff is quite nice also. I put a retro fit kit in my S14 Kouki Nissan 240sx and I loved them because I HATE the little blue bulbs people put in their headlights!

Anyways I didnt know someone was thinking of putting a bulb in their housing and expecting it to work without ballist(sp?) and everything else (about 1 hour install). I was interested in going with a HID kit for my highbeams also thats why I was looking into this thread.
