Default Big Brother is watching your S..

I read about this very cool product in MotorTrend. Its called the CarChip. Its a data logger that plugs into your ODBII port while you drive and it records hours and hours of data. The top model will even record 4 other data points. You then pull the chip out, plug it into your computer and can look at all the graphs and events logged. I don't know about you, but this is a GREAT idea for when you need to turn the car over to someone for repair or let others drive your car.

Very cool. I think i'm going to get one.

Almost all mechanics use the OBDII port before working on the car. So they would just remove it. But as for kids and valets, it's perfect!

It's nice for doing aggressive group rides and such. If you have several people with these, you can compare driving styles with these.

not exactly. I think you might be somewhat disappointed in what you get. As a poor man's datalogger this is um ghetto.

One of the Dallas owners has one and likes it very much. It'll go down to a resolution of 5 seconds, which it can sustain for 42 hours. Considering the Ease ODB II Data Logger runs around $750, it's a nice inexpensive little toy that you probably get some use out of. (Just added a front grill or vented hood and want to know if they have an effect on intake air and coolant temps? No problem.)

Yeah, and knowing some of the wild claims I've seen posted here about AHM, they'll blame the OBD-II dongle for the problem.
