Default Big Difference!!!

Just drove my sister's 5th gen prelude and what a difference!!! I really couldn't feel the VTEC in that car. Does Prelude even have a VTEC???j/k I did feel a surge but it was nothing like S2000's.....

If it was a 5speed you should be able to feel it. Kicks in at 5200 rpm.

High 14's to mid 15's is not far off from a Type R. The Prelude is not slow.

Definitely a bit more tourqy than the high revving counterparts. Develops peak power at 6600 rpm I think... The autos are slow though (low 16's). The 5SPD Prelude is faster than a GSR if thats any comparison. Before the S2000 and the type R the 4th Gen VTECS were Hondas second fastest "sports car". Many were raced professionally. The 5th Gen lost alot of popularity cause the perfomrance crowd moved to the Civic Si and Type R. The there came the S2000 (The Type R killer). Seeing Hondas trend of killing off there top or near top performance models, don't look for the S2000 to be on top for long. I'm still getting one though.

My previous car - Civic VTI (160hp B16A?) had a much more notible transition from non-VTEC to VTEC than my S2000.
Especially audible ....
