Default BIG PROBLEM

OK so check this out.......Yesterday I installd both my T1R Sparrow Dual along with my K&N FIPK (which was one very tricky mod).......

BUT!!!!.......while installing I noticed a black liquid that has been dripping along the ront of the engine.......it's believed to be a ####ed up gasket...

the thing is......I'm syill under warranty for about another month.......and after-market parts are frowmned upon when under factory warranty..

WHAT SHOULD I DO?????

take off the parts and go to the dealer????

or purchase own gasket and pay for the labor?

Dealer can legally only deny a claim if the aftermarket part can be proven to have caused said damage.

If one dealer BS's you, bring up the Magnum Moss act. Should scare them. If that doesn't work, try another. Anytime someone denies you, bring up Magnum Moss and say you understand it's their burden to PROVE the mod caused the damage.

BTW, if Honda ever finds out you had something as major as a head gasket replaced by anyone besides a dealer... forget ANY aspect of the warranty from that point out. That is a part they could blame any future engine trouble on.

How did you screw up a gasket while installing your intake?

He didn't. That's why this is a warranty issue.

Thanks for clarifying. I'd definitely take the car to the dealer with mods and have them fix the problem...soon. Another tip would be to avoid the weekend when service departments are busy beyond belief and seem to prefer not to deal with warranty work.

if you are concerned about the warenty just put back your stock exhaust and intake it is easy and quick, then take in the car.

That's not a bad option either. I wouldn't even sweat the exhaust... the intake is what dealers usually claim is a problem. "It sucks in more dirt/debris and that's what caused it". BS, but at least quasi-logical. Any claim about the exhaust is asinine.

They won't deny you service and if they even mention your mods in any negative way, I'd start doing business with another dealer in the future.
