Bitterly disappointed!
I finally got to drive the S2000. It is the most remarkable car I have ever driven! The handling is awesome and acceleration is good.
Now the disappointment. At 6'4" and 250 lbs., I am just too big to fit comfortably in the cockpit. If the car only had a tilt steering wheel, I could probably buy one. I sure losing 30 lbs would help also.
I know that some athletes have cars modified to fit their frames.
Does anyone know of any modifications that could be done to the S2000 to help me fit? A racing seat maybe?
Thanks

Well, I don't know if I can help too much, but I just wanted to say hey to a fellow Oklahoman! I am about to move down to Norman in a week to go to OU. I noticed you live in Edmond. My girlfriends parents are building a house there right now off of Hefner Road.
As far as a racing seat goes, those generally would be smaller and give you less room than a stock seat because they tend to hold you tighter and more snug for the track and hard turns.
Welcome to the board! I hope you end up with an S2000.

Hey Brandon,
Thanks for the reply.
Although the racing seat would be tighter on my backside, it might sit lower so that my legs would have more room under the steering wheel, which is the real problem.
Good luck at OU. My daughter's going to be a Junior there this year (English Lit Major). I hope you enjoy it there as much as she does.

They make racing seats for bigger people and it does allow a lower seating position. I remember seeing that on a Sparco website, but that doesn't mean their seat will fit in the S2.
Thanks, and I'll make sure to check it out.

I'm 6'5" and weigh 195. I have a 36" inseam. I fit snug and have found that moving the seat up a little actually helps a little. Also, my legs don't quite go under the steering wheel; they kind of go around it. It's comfortable even for long trips.
Good luck. I hope you can get one. They're great cars.

And I'm 6'4", 240 lbs. - it's snug but it's hardly impossible to drive for long periods of time. I've spent as long as 10 hours at the wheel on trips - feet fit under the pedals by squeezing them under.
This is NOT a loose-fit car - if you don't "wear" it, you won't be able to extract the handling performance.
