I know that some people have removed that black tape from around the frame of the windshield. What are your thoughts:

1. Is is easy
2. How did you do it
3. How does it look under the tape
4. Is it a good idea?

Thanks

Keep in mind that numerous owners have reported scratches underneath the tape. As for whether or not you should do it, it's entirely up to personal taste. I like mine with the tape on it.

Take the tape off and you'll be as quick as the Black S2000'S that don't have to carry the weight of the extra tape. LOL.
Really, I personally like the looks of the tape on all non black S2000's when the roof is up and vice versa when the top is down. If you don't like it you can always put tape back on I guess.

I guess the Question that I was really asking was, Have many people found scratches under the tape?

This is a reversible mod ? I thought once its off, that's it, no going back. I guess if you get the same black tape it can be done. Anyone out there didn't like it and re-install the black tape? I have left mine on for now, but mulling about the same thing also.

I have heard it's reversible but a major pain putting the tape back on.

If you do remove it, you'll find quite a bit of excess glue on the paint. I used a product called Kleen Strip Gum & Adhesive Remover to get rid of the glue (Pep Boys). It worked great, and I think the car looks much better without the tape.
