You did warn me, you experienced stook types, you. But I did it anyway.
My GF wanted to buy some soya milk on Sunday.
Where shall we get some? I said. Partridges in Knightsbridge?
OK she said. She's now used to implausibly long drives for the simplest of comestibles.
Lovely day for driving round London. Knightsbridge was closed by plod due to some incident. Anyway, we were edging forward in the traffic,idly, music on, anything to be cool.
Idly putting on the handbrake, I let my arm drop on the centre console. Bleeergh! Cold! Wakey wakey, hands off snakey! WTF? Cold, not so cool.
That's the first time I've used the headlight washers & I never plan to again. I think they got the rear light clusters too!
Take two bottles in the Stook? Not me, I just wash n' go!

You 'New Worlders' haven't experienced the pleasure of accidentally pressing the headlight washer button. The water hits the lights, bounces up, and lands in the cockpit.
The headlight washers were included on Aus S's as a form of contraception. When the GF gets amorous and leans over the centre console, hey presto, cold shower.
In the UK they were included so that poms would have a shower once in a while.
BTW, I'm a pom living in Aus, so I get twice the value.

I think it is some kind of built in defence mechanism.
If windscreen cleaners threaten you at the traffic lights, or onlookers get too close, you can get them first.
Only, bring an umbrella with you!

I was scared for a while, worried that some Brit mobile with Lucas brakes and dim headlights T-Boned your Stook. Glad your tale had a happy ending. Are showers as popular in England as they are here?

BTW, Joe (the Prince of Darkness) Lucas does not make brakes, only dodgy electrics. You have much to be thankful for.
I have to admit that Honda headlamp washers tend to be more reliable than British showers. And there's a little net for one's toiletries!

took me a while too!
one tip I read out of a magazine to keep the radiator a little cooler - create a wiper sprayer to spray water on the radiator when needed. "said" it worked well. maybe you can do this to avoid future...uhhh..whatever you had.
