I love the Autobahn Mirror (see various auto accessory catalogues, including http://www.griotsgarage.com ). It eliminates the blindspot entirely.

The blind spot has almost killed me twice. I was backing out of my driveway and I was just about to pull out into the street when a huge gravel truck barrelled past. I stopped only because I heard him coming at the last second. The passenger side blind spot completely blocked him out.

I almost merged into someone on the highway yesterday. I craned my neck to make sure nobody was there, then started to change lanes, but then there he was.. coming up kind of fast, but I didn't see him! It is getting kind of annoying, but warmer weather is upon us, so the top will be down more often than not. It also doesn't help if the plastic window is a little dirty or hazy, or even wet from rain. Right now the stook is my primary (only) car, but I am going to buy a larger SUV-type car this summer so the stook will be the weekender.

I have designed a mirror system that ELIMINATES THE BLIND SPOT. You can easily see the blind spots( right and left) from the normal driving position without trying to refocus your eyes to a small convex side view mirror several feet away, I have those also. It installs in a few minutes, is fully adjustable, looks factory, and is also great on the track. You can actually see the blind spots without looking for them. I was going to offer this to our club members, just had not gotten to it yet. Post me here if you would like more info.

Got some pics. Take a look...if anyone would like them I can make them up. They will fit any car.
Please excuse the trash cans.

Hah yeah I'm paranoid bout the crazy blind spots. What's worse is the middle windscreen mirror. At night it pics up reflections, so when I strain my neck to the right to change lanes, I jump back or swerve back in my lane thinking there's a car to my right. When, it's just a reflection!

I never really had a problem when I used to use my softtop. I just lean forward to look left... a habit which carried over to regular cars (the b pillar blocks your view in a regular car when you do this...)

My convex mirrors do eliminate the blind spot but I still check by leaning forward and looking back, even with the oem ht

I thought the blindspots on this car were so easy to see by just leaning foward to look at a different angle on the side mirror and maybe taking a quick look to the side but just moving foward to look at a different angle on the mirror works totally fine. I did this on previous cars and works fine for seeing blind spots and so easy to do.

x2! I stuck a recangle bubble mirror thing on mine the first day I had it. I dont have to look backwards when changing lanes because its so efficient.
