Default The Blind Spot debate

I had a Monte Carlo before I got the S, and I had no trouble seeing the other lane if I wanted to turn. When the top is up, I get nervous when I switch lanes.

I read a thread earlier about this (since search is down), a user posted something about positioning the driver and passenger's mirrors so you can point directly to the blind spot, and the rear view mirror can handle the other parts.

Since I've been driving for 9 years, I'm so used to seeing the same car in the rear view and the passenger, which makes me nervous.

Any advice or another way to get around all this? The only solution I found was to floor it and pass people going 90 so they have no change to stay in the blind spot

There was a discussion somewhere about getting the Australian passenger-side mirror (i.e. driver's side on LHD cars), which is convex, and replacing the regular flat mirror with it. Muz was organizing a group-buy for around $42; not sure if he still takes orders...

If/when the search function comes back, check for "Australian Mirror Mod" or something like that.

you could get those little mirrors that attach to your existing mirror to be able to view your blind spots. This is just another alternative where you don't have to replace the whole mirror, you just stick on a little one. some people like this idea better.

I was thinking about getting those. I just have a feeling there will be one time where I hit someone, that little mirror might make a hell of a difference.

If anything happens to my S, I think I'd go crazy. My buddy got his M3 wrecked and he's pretty mad because he has to drive his fiancee's neon. Poor chap.
