Default blinker sound on intermittent windshield wiper

When I turn the windshield wipers on the intermitttent setting, I get the blinker sound. Is this right?

And I thought it was just a cheap, noisy wiper relay switch!

I don't know. I've never had to turn the windshield wipers on before. I take my other car out when it rains

Agreed, I wonder if the 2002 is the same. The cheap Civic loaner I had did not make any noise.

Instant Fix: Turn up the volume on your radio! When I do this my wife becomes the turn signal monitor to warn me that my signal is blinking.

I didn't know that ... Since my wipers have been dis-engaged by a wank of the lovely fuse. I rely on Rain-X completely but it's rarely driven in wet conditions.

I have a feeling that Honda deliberately located the relay in a position where it can be heard. It's part of the character of the car. Nothing about this car is particularly quiet now is it? You're supposed to be able to hear everything mechanical that goes on.
