Blistein PSS9 & KW Variant 3
 

I'm planning to buy one of these coilovers in the next few months and was wondering how many miles can I put on these before I have to rebuild them? How much will it cost to rebuild? Can I have them rebuilt in the states or do I have to ship it overseas?

I know the KWs are the better coilovers, but if its going to cost more to rebuild and more often than I'll probably settle for the Blisteins. My car is daily driven so I can't have a lot of downtime.

FYI:
Planning to drop the car about an inch. Car will be drag race quite often and will see the track a few times a year.

Just got off the phone with KW and the sales representative said that the shocks should last like any other shocks. :confused: He was too vague on his answers which tells me he's unsure. The only thing he was sure about was the shocks should last at least 60,000 miles daily driven with occasional tracking days.

When I asked about the cost of rebuilding the shocks he said it would be substantial. I then ask roughly how much. He said depends on what needs to be done. I said full rebuild. He said a lot. :confused:

I will contact Blistein and see what they say.

What an idiot. I would have asked to speak with somebody else. I once spoke with a person there who seemed very knowledgeable. I should have asked him because I know that his answers would not have been so ambiguous.

It sounds like the person with whom you spoke obtained his information from Monroe!

I can't remember where I heard it, but around $150 - $200 per shock is normal. They should last a long time though, what are you worried about? They are built to TUV spec, they should last as long as you own your car. Or are you planning on using them for 24 hour endurance races?
