Has anyone noticed any blistering on the black base on the inside of the headlight assembly? A friend has such a blister on 1 headlight, and I just noticed one on mine. I don't know if it is a paint blister or a plastic blister.
I think this should qualify as a warrenty replacement.

A couple weeks ago, five of us (plus one new MR2) got together for a little drive. At one of the gathering points, we noticed two of the five cars had these blisters. Directly in front of the HIDs, right? Maybe it's only a matter of time (I believe the three cars sans blisters are quite a bit newer than the other two), or maybe it's related to how often the HIDs are on, or ???

Don't know if this will be covered under warranty, but maybe Honda can provide replacements with *clear* corners & amber bulbs?

Hope this helps.

My dealer said no problem to replacing the headlight assembly. I have 2 years left on the warranty so I'll wait to see if the other assembly gets blistered.

So did anyone figure out the cause of these blisters? Yes, its heat, but why right there?? Is the plastic thinner there? Is there something beneath the plastic that absorbs the heat from the HID?

I just noticed this today too. Seems like something that would have been worked out during the testing process? Ultimately, in 10-20 years those blisters will look pretty bad if they continue to grow and react to the heat.

Any 01' or 02' with this blister problem?

Among all the lights we've cleared out so far, only the 00' models seem to have this problem.
