Body 'quivering' over bumps and irregularities?
When going over even tiny bumps and irregularities on the road, I can feel a slight oscillating quivering sensation that is transmitted through the seat and feel with the small of my back. I hear the quivering as well. I think this was there when I first took delivery as well, but I think when only going over things like railroad tracks. I'm not sure if it's doing it more now after 100k miles and 5 years but it's doing it even over small irregularites on the road which is like... everywhere on today's roads. Now that I'm driving an Altima and Civic often, I guess I notice any noise and harshness in the S2000 more. I also tend to think I'm more sensitive than the average person so you may not notice this unless you're looking for it.
Is the quivering the expected torsional bending of the open top frame? I hear the S2000 has good rigidity for a roadster but I guess we can't expect too much, right? The car is stock with the exception of Rick's X-brace.

I feel this same quiver in my 06' s2k vs my 96' accord. The chassis is simply so much stiffer than an accords, it isn't as forgiving. It's also much stiffer suspension wise.
It's almost like you're forcing the chassis to flex when you hit those bumps. I've gotten used to it.

I never really noticed the quivering you speak of, but when I picked up my X brace on the way back it was lightly raining and I had little droplets of water all over my hood. I noticed that when I went over rough roads of a railroad crossing they moved.
I put my xbrace in and redrove the same roads. I didn't notice any difference in the seat of my pants, but the droplets stayed rock solid on this trip so obviously there was a difference.
The Miata guys add an underchassis brace that runs just about all the way between the front and rear suspension. A butterfly brace I believe it is called. if that does't stiffen it up then even Viagra would work
