I went to www.borla.com last night and found that they do have a new S2000 cat-back system. Anyone seen or heard one of these? The web site won't give a price. Anyone no what they charge? Or do they make you go through a local dealer? Anyone heard anything about this?

Interesting that the Kingmotorsport prepared S2000 for racing featured in Car and Driver did not use Mugen exhaust. I think it was a Borla or some other...

Hello All,
The exhaust on Tony Swan's T2 S2000 was an exhaust system fabricated in-house by us using a Borla XR-1 race muffler. This kept the car under the legal SCCA DB limit.....

Cheers!

Thanks for the explanation, Scott! I am very happy with the Mugen exhaust, by the way!

Scott - I was at Road America for the June Sprints and saw your prepared red S2000 (can't remember who was driving). What exhaust was on that car? If I remember correctly it was a cat-back straight-pipe with the stock tips. I don't remember it being to loud so did it have a muffler on it?

I am interested in that set-up for my car - it must be much lighter than stock.

Any idea of power increases from that system?

Norman - I'd like to see the dyno plots of the 14hp increase.....

Borla responded today and said msrp is $839.
Is it true that the RM exhaust is a B&B?

Norman--Did you get your Borla local or mail order?

Howdy,
The exhaust you saw at the June Sprints was indeed our hand fabricated exhaust utilizing the Borla XR-1 race muffler. May be a touch loud for the street. For a car used primarily on the street, the Mugen exhaust is a better way to go.....

Please feel free to call us anytime (262-593-2800) if you would like us to fabricate an exhaust for you.

Cheers!
