Default Brake Caliper Paint

Many people recommend grinding the calipers down and paint them with the G2 system. However, i was thinking of using high temeprature SPRAY paint. I would sand each coat down to get the smooth surface and repeat this process couple of times. Do you think it will have the same outcome as the glossy finish of the G2 paint??? Remember, im not planning on grinding the calipers, just sanding the paint 3 or 4 times to achieve the smooth finish.

BTW which color should i paint my calipers. Its a spa yellow. I was thinking silver because i dodnt want to attract too much atttention. yellow will match the car but also is ricey. Definitley not red. Any idea would be helpful thanks.

Gloss Black is what will keep you away from the ricer side...IMO the silver and spa yellow combo would not be that hot...I would rather see Spa Yellow with Yellow...But The G2 Glossy Black is what I used on my Berlina Black Honda S2000 and I lvoe ti you should do it to adn it gives the brakes just a better look behind the rims but nothing to showy jus depends on what approach YOU want.

i like the look of silver calipers...
they look cleaner, but do not distract-
really just depends on what you are looking for. some like to make the calipers the focus of the wheel (red works for that)

subtle with silver (these are almost 3 years old)

I painted mine black. I started to grind the front right caliper down, then stopped. It just seemed like it would take more time than I wanted to put in just to have a smooth surface to paint on. Unless you're super close to the caliper, you don't notice the little bumps.

Dupicolor sells a kit like G2 but a lot less. Retail is like $20 and you can find it in most places like schucks or napa for $15.

Black is beautiful. Since your car is yellow, yellow would work too.

I sanded mine, painted them, and then a light coat of hi temp clear coat.
