Default Brake dust

does this happen to you? My front wheels collect tons of brake dust. What can I do to prevent this?

Waxing your wheels will make it easier to clean them. Since the 04s have a softer brake pads for better performance there is nothing you can really do.

I've got an '00 and I don't have this brake dust problem - never have. Maybe when your pads wear thin, you should see if pre-04 pads will work. After all, they stop the earlier cars quite well enough.

I believe the caliper bodies are identical.

The brakes on my 2002 don't really collect much dust like other cars I've driven.

I wonder if they changed the pads on the 2004's. I've been hearing they collect more dust. It may also be because of the new wheels not being as open.

I changed from the '02 pads to the '04 pads recently and noticed a HUGE increase in the amount of brake dust on the wheels between washing (and I wash my car often).

At this point I'm not seeing any real advantages to the '04 pads, they feel a bit softer and dust more, not really any reason to give up the '02 pads but I put on new rotors and wanted to see the difference in the pad compounds.
