Default Brake Dust & Wheel Cover Inserts

I have a 2004 S2K and I love it. I drive a lot and end up cleaning brake dust off the wheels once a week. I have tried all types of products including P21 and found that Wheel Wax does the best longest-lasting job. But, it is still a chore and with Winter in New England, I need to find a better solution. Has anyone tried using the wheel cover metal inserts that are sold in catalogs like California Car Cover, etc. I know these will work, but, I wonder if it will adversely affect the handling or appearance. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

This is strage, but I never have any issues with my 2002 brakes and dust. This only seems to be an issue with 04+ from what I'm reading.

The wheel inserts do work, but I'd be hesistant putting them on the S, with performance driving... You many just need to keep some spare paper towels in your trunk to wipe them off every few days.

I don't know about appearance, but those things will definitely inhibit the flow of cooling air to the brake rotors. Bad idea.

I switched to '04 pads on my '01. They are a LOT dustier. You might consider swapping to pre '04 pads.

Meguiar's is launching a new line of cleaning brushes. I'm going to pick up the wheel one when it hits the stores (unless I get hooked up otherwise )

Never had a real problem with dusting with my '02.

Don't even think about the wheel inserts.

A fresh coat of NXT on my wheels allows me to just rinse off any dust. (my car isn't a daily driver)

if your worried about brake dust and you dent track your car, i suggest getting another set of brake pads that doesnt dust as bad.. im sure it would still be adequate, since your not gonna overheat them...

Don't get those things. They look terrible, plus they restrict cooling to your brakes.
