Default Break sqeaking...

Anyone notice this on their s? Recently, I heard squeaking from my breaks and I'm wondering if this is usual. If it is, is there a way to make it go away?

You sure you don't mean "break squaking?"

A good guideline to go by is that once it squeaks, the pads are 75% worn. Once they grind (you can feel it grinding when you brake), its damaging rotors.

That kinda depends on how hard you use them. If you tail-gate all the time and find yourself slamming on the B R A K E S, you'll wear them out pretty early. If you go to the track every weekend, you'll wear them out even sooner.

I should have rephrased my response. There are simply too many variables involved to say with any certainty how long YOUR brakes will last. What you consider "normal" may not be my "normal". You know the saying? "Your results may vary!"
What you need to do is start a poll asking at what mileage did a person first change out his/her brake pads and/or rotors with an explanation as to how the car was driven. I'm at just over 2 years and just over 20,000 miles and my brake pads and rotors aren't showing any signs of needing attention. I rarely find myself having to slam on the brakes. I don't track my car. I use engine braking as much as possible. I don't tailgate.
