Default Breaking in with Vtec?!?!???

Someone has told me that you must kick in vtec during the 0-600 mile break in period for the "hot cam" to be broken in properly. Meaning to kick in vtec does not mean to redline but to creep past 6000 rpm and crawl back to normal rpms can i get some feedback on this?

Those lobes will wait to break-in, meanwhile the cylinders are a more critical concern. Staying below 6k, varying loads, and avoiding WOT is suggested for the first 600.

I would follow the break-in procedure described in the owner's manual. The engineers who designed the car also designed the break-in method. They know their stuff.
