hmm I'm gonna also have to look into the AJ racing T1r coilovers. never heard of them before

from what i gathered, a good aftermarket spring and koni yellows might be a better option than cheap coilovers

If it's only for looks, and bragging, get the cheapest one you can.
If you're serious,get the Ohlins,Penske,Mugen.!!!

thanks guys

im skeptical of the megan setup because the rear mounts look flimsy. i dont know too much about the B-Max coilovers. does anyone know what the spring rate is? i tried the AJR site but it's down.

also, is shox.com the best place to pick up bilsteins?
Im pretty sure that the spring rates are 12k 12k. I just put the coilovers in last night.

i guess "budget" is the key word.

as someone said, get the cheapest coilover you can. i guess the megan coilover fits the bill. the construction of it doesn't look that much different from the rest of the coilovers you mentioned.

see, those are the "budget" ones, i guess by "budget" i mean $1300 and under.

compare that to quality ones, my point is that the construction looks similar in the "budget" ones vs. the uber ones, lol, so i don't think it makes that much of a difference which one you get. but don't get me wrong, i don't mean to imply that any of these are bad coilovers. good luck.

FYI, T1R suspension are made for daily drivers which can be capable for track days and Auto-X. You will not sacrifice the ride quality for the performance. They comes in F12 R12 or F12 R8 2 types of spring rates for your needs.

i ended up going with the Bilsteins. they're not exactly what i was looking for in terms of ride and handling (too conservative). not to mention that i have some clunking here and there. i took them out and reinstalled them, with no luck. anyway ill ride on these for another year or so and then upgrade.

thanks everyone for your suggestions.

Not trying to be negative here, but this kinda proves my point on another thread. You get what you pay for. The stock system is really that good. So unless you are willing to pay for Top Secret, T1R, and J's to name a few, then keep your money in your wallet. There are only just a handful of coilover companies out there that have done the R&D on the actual car. And you won't find these coilovers at your local pep boys Go to a high performance shop that specializes in S2000's. It's not always about the best deal. You wouldn't buy dog food if it were a good deal if you didn't have a dog...right???

i understand your point, but i wouldnt say Bilstein is a crappy brand that didnt do any R&D on the car. my (failing) logic was there are many satisfied PSS9 customers, so going with the PSS was a safe choice. im not just trying to justify my purchase, but they are an improvement over the stock system - just not exactly what i had in mind
