Does anyone have anything like this: http://www.gesforless.com/default.isg?cPath=11_99

Anyone have a lift in their garage that they can recommend?

i think the one on the link with the S2000 in it should be the one you get, simply for using a good car in the pic.

Bendpak are well known. You see them on some of the car shows on Spike, Speed and Discovery.

Easiest one to do is the above ground model. You need about 12' of headroom though, just FYI.

Check out www.ultimategarage.com for some more info.

Looks like the different lifts are for different purposes. Is it just for storage, or for doing work on a car?

If you go with a 2 post, you'll need a 6" slab. If you only have a 4" slab, you'll need to go with a 4 poster.

I am thinking about going with the portable mid-rise scissor lift. I would like to be able to work on the car. This isn't for storage.

Thanks for the info on the slab!

I'd go with an assymetric 2 post - especially if the slab hasn't been poured.

If I were building a new house, I'd get the Flush mount version of the scissors lift as seen here http://www.ultimategarage.com/lifts.htm

those scissor lists don't look safe. anyone make a 2 post lift that doesn't have to be bolted to the concrete floor?

Well, if I was building, I'd definitely make my garage ceiling high enough to accomodate a full height lift. Think about it. If you are getting the lift and you can build what you want, why not do it in a way that gives you the ability to store another car as well as being able to work on all your cars. If you get a drive-on lift, I think they also make attachments to lift by the frame so you can work on the suspension.
