Bulbs used after clearing headlight/diffusers
I recently cleared my headlights/diffusers and sidemarkers. I put in the smoked diffusers. I orderd the chrome bulb set from ricks because 1) I wanted to stay legal and have amber blinkers 2) Because I wasn't sure what color the original bulbs were.
My first impression of the chrome bulbs is that they are no where near as bright as what was originally on the car. When the sidemarkers were orange they blinked with a lot of light, when I put in the smoked sidemarkers with the chrome bulbs they put out a soft yellow light that in my opinion was about half as bright. When I went to clear out my sidemarkers I put in the two crome bulbs in each headlight. The larger bulb is for the turning signal and the other is for the running lamp light (not sure what to call it). I was not very happy with the results, a very weak light was coming out when I had the turning signals on, I think this happens because the bulbs aren't as bright as the clear bulbs and also because of the diffuser being smoked.

Just FYI the bulbs behind the sidemarkers and diffusers are clear.
What I decided to do was to put back the clear bulbs on my newly cleared out sidemarkers and also put the clear bulbs back just on the turning signal. I'm very happy with the results. I know it's not legal to have clear/white turning signals, but I left in the chrome bulbs for the running lamps, so hopefully it won't draw too much attention. I just want to say that rick's sells a great product, I think if you don't want the risk you should deff go with his chrome bulbs, I'm keeping mine in case I need them down the line.

I'll do a video clip tonight so you can see the difference, maybe one in the day and one at night. I don't know for sure but I think you can reach back to the bulbs while the headlights are still installed, so I don't think it'd be that hard to change them out, I could be wron though I haven't tried it yet.
Here's a short video of the clear bulbs, the running lights are the only ones that are chrome.

The OEM clear halogen bulbs have an ugly yellow/white hue when used with Rick's diffusers. Go LED, you won't be disappointed.
