burned a qt of oil THIS WEEK
15000miles on my car, drove about 200miles and im down a qt. changed my oil earlier this week to mobile 1 syn 10w30. before the oil change the car burned alot of oil, and i did drive a little faster this week then usual, but this cant be right. how do i deal with a dealer on this issue? im in orange county if anyone knows of a particular dealer or service advisor to go through.

hmmm.. maybe you have a leak somewhere that the oil is literally leaking from the car... i know the family SUV, honda passport has a small one, and we are gonna fix it soon...
one quart is way too much oil to burn that quickly, it also may be because you just switched oils, so its kinda adjusting to it..
hope you find the problem,

Did you replace the oil drain plug washer when you replaced the oil? This can cause a slow but noticable leak in oil. They're cheap from the dealer and definately worth your time on an aluminum pan.

be consistent when u check the oil level...maybe it wasn't a quart you burned...but just opposite variances both times you checked the oil. check it at say exactly 3 minutes after shutting off the engine both times at the same location.

a qt of oil has left my engine this week. oil was checked when i changed oil, after a 1hr drive with the car, then a few days later im on the bottom line, when i was almost at the top line when i filled it.

when u changed the oil and checked it, you said it was almost at the top of the line. possibly, since u checked it right after changing the oil and BEFORE driving the car, the engine did not flow through the engine or even the oil filter, giving you a hire reading.
You should, after changing ur oil, run the engine...then check the oil.
Fill up the oil to the proper level...and check it again next week.
