BUSTED!
Well, I'm out on a drive this afternoon with John David, Elistan, Rasputin, Rasputin's pal in a 325 and Brian, a local NSX owner....
We're cruising along in BFE hillcountry Texas, run up on some traffic, and we start leapfrog passing cars as we can. John David pulls a pretty high speed, high profile passing maneuver, and once it's safe to, I follow suit.
A few minutes later, we stop for gas. A local Barney Fife pulls up behind the cars, eyeballing them. We all pull out a bit later, and we don't get a mile down the street when every cop on their force (literally) appears out of nowhere, pulling us all over in succession.
Seems John ran the constable, in his private vehicle, out of his cushy parking spot in the passing lane... Mr. Constable didn't like this, and called all of his underlings to come and get the "yellow and red ones..." He tells the story that we were racing, but we all know I wasn't (Of course, red is faster, we all know that, right?).
Anyway, the long and short is that the cops let us go with warnings, and the cute little redneck cop who got me told me where we CAN go to "open them up" without hassle!
God love cute little redneck cops...
And that's how 4 stooks and an NSX, all misbehaving, all go home without an arrest...!
Elistan, who is here from Dallas for the week, calls his first run with the Hill Country Hellions a "baptism by fire..."
