buttomed out on speed bump
I bottomed out on a speed bump going at a crawl at an angle. I have multiple lowered cars and never bottomed out before, but this speed bump was ridiculously high and steep and I could not reverse with cars behind. I heard the loud thumb as the chassis hit the bump. I only see a small amount of the tar substance scrapped off. Is this to protection the chassis from rust? Where can I find some to reapply to the car? Anything else I should check that is not evident from a quick visual inspection?
If your car still drives in a straight line, not making odd exhaust noise, or leaking any fluids(motor or transmission oil), then you are fine. I was paranoid when I bottomed out on speed bumps, they're worse than dips and driveways because of the the "metal" sound it makes. Try to avoid speedbumps altogether
