Default Button under the dash

There is a little push button directly under the cruise control button out of sight under the dash. I've looked through the owner's manual and can't find any mention of it. What does it do?

Most likely for the alarm that didn't come from the factory. Ask the dealer or whoever installed the alarm on your car. Use that if you don't have the remote...so you're not driving around town with the alarm blaring.

It is the Honda alarm reset button. If you open the car with the key rather than the key fob, the alarm will go off. You must put the key in the ignition, turn on the ignition then press this button to reset the alarm.

I only know this because I installed the Honda alarm myself. It was in the alarm instruction book.

Thanks. I didn't buy the car new so I didn't know and I have had a few issues with the damn alarm going off when I switch keyless remotes. I guess the flashing red light in the center console indicates that the alarm is armed? And if you use a remote to lock the doors and the red light isn't flashing then the alarm isn't armed?

To reset the engine light you have to turn the key to the lock position, press and hold the trip meter reset button, and then turn the car on. You then continue to hold the button until the light goes out, so no, it is not the service light reset.

Yes. You understand correctly. There are actually 3 settings on the unit under the drivers seat. Two automatically arm the thing and the third arms it when you lock the doors with the remote. It sounds like yours is set on the third. That is where mine is set.

If you need a copy of the instructions, I can try to PM you a scan of the important parts of my copy. I have never tried to attach a file before.
