Default Buyer beware: Ebay keys

Do not buy a "Transponder Key" on e-bay. I recently bought one for my '04 s2000 that I bought over a month ago. I took it to the locksmith today and he said it would not work because it was a type R transponder and my s2000 key is a type F.
Locksmith didn't charge me for cutting my key, and when I tested it I could break into my passenger door and center console to break into my trunk so it was partially worth it, if I lock my keys in the trunk (I have no clue how people do that, but just in case haha) (bad cut)

Btw they key claimed it was "for 2004 2005 2006 HONDA CRV CR-V & S2000 & CIVIC + KEY"
I messaged the seller and will see how they handle it.

I heard of others having an "F" on thier key and wondering what that means..., I guess now we know. Funny thing is I have an "h" on mine.

Have no clue how you lock your keys in the truck eh? Do you have the auto lock feature for your S2000? Takes about 20 seconds if I remember correctly. Just add a little absent minded-ness with auto lock and viola!

Yeppers. You can still manage to get into the trunk if you lock your keys in it as long as you don't lock the center console.

Good luck on a refund, they'll always claim "not our fault if it's incompatible". Which is bullshit, since they flat out advertise it is.

If they won't give you a refund, file a claim with PayPal/eBay for "item not as promised".

Majestic Honda has transponder blanks for $22. It's $52 for the S2000-branded key.
