This being the first model. Should I have any problems? I am a college student without any knowledge about cars but I love the the way it looks. getting it for 12500 with 42k but i have to replace the top preferably glass. My buddy said some of them have emission control problem but tats all I know. Please help me out.

 

Ive had mine since July and it also is a 2000MY. Anyways, the only thing that Ive found semi-annoying is the clutch buzz, which is hit or miss in some cars. Get it inspected and checked out. If all is good, you should be good to go!

My MY00 car remains trouble free, but you need to have an older AP1 like this checked out carefully. In particular, have the valve spring retainers checked for signs of an over rev. Do a forum search on "cracked retainers" or just "retainers" if you're not already fimiliar with this particular issue.

Keep in mind that insurance will not be cheap with this car, and that when and if you break things, they're not cheap to fix or replace. Don't buy a car that you can't really afford to keep up.
