Default Buying Coilovers

so right now i have neuspeed springs with stock struts and the ride is ok. i want a little better ride but i also want the adjustability of full coilovers. the buddy club offers almost all the same stuff as the TEIN flex, and they are much cheaper. so what do you guys think of the buddy club coilovers?

I had buddy club N1's on my EK9 and loved them. Great quality and decent ride with super stiff springs (16k/12k)

buddy club RS is great for track/street while N+ offers good value for the money.. a good street coilover. We have both in stock let us know if you have any questions

I have the racing spec damper.

Upper pillow mounts were noisy.
1 failed strut, but good customer service sent out replacement in 2 days.
Lower nut was jdm. Had to cut and weld on usdm spec lower nut.

Feels a little firm for the street. Wet seattle streets and uneven pavement makes for a little skip and slip. I'd go softer springs next time since i never make it to the track.

Do you have to cut all the racing spec dampers to install or was yours just a fluke?

I also have the racing spec dampers with the pillow mounts... I like the dampers, but I'm not impressed with Buddy Club USA's customer service, and I've heard other similar sentiments.

One damper was leaking, so I decided to send all four back to be rebuilt since the car would not be usable with three dampers in it. Before ever sending them back, I was told over the phone the rebuild would take 2-3 days, a week at the most. No problem, I'll ship ground, they'll ship ground, and they should be back in plenty of time for Fall Colors and the track session following it.

A week goes by, no call, so I start asking questions. Every few days I called and always got a push-off response, "We're working on them now, we'll be done shortly." After the first week I was even told they had just received a large shipment in so they were spending a lot of time unpacking and moving it... and this is my problem because...? After they were there for several weeks and multiple bug-them calls, I finally received notice they were done.

They appeared on my doorstep Thursday afternoon, I was leaving Friday for Fall Colors. I would have been understanding if they told me it would take 2-3 weeks, but don't tell me 2-3 days and leave me hanging. I was even told once that whomever told me 2-3 days was wrong in saying that, but from their own words it could have been done has they not left it sitting on the bench while they worked on other items. How long can a rebuild actually take... an hour, maybe two, per damper? They compress the spring, replace the center cartridge as a single unit, and release... there's little "rebuilding" going on.

To top it off, they didn't so much as wipe a rag across them. It wasn't hard to tell which damper had blown originally as the oil and road gunk was still slathered all over the spring What would that have taken, an extra 3-5 minutes per damper to wipe it down with a rag?

I'm no longer a fan, and I don't think I can recommend them to others with a clean conscience.

Thanks for the insight MacGyver...I'll keep that in mind before jumping on them. How many miles were on them before one started leaking? How much did it cost to rebuild all 4?

I imagine I put about 40-45k on them, but the last several thousand had been pretty harsh as the route I took had some pretty nasty bumps (read, 5 mile high speedbumps!)... taking those at 60 mph does bad things to struts when they bottom out.

It's $150/damper to rebuild + shipping... all four dampers weighed a bit over 50 pounds.
