Default buzzy dashboard?

my new to me 03 S2k has a buzzy dashboard behind the steering wheel and it gets a bit annoying - happens at low speeds.. is this common to S2ks, and can it be fixed at dealers?? or is this something i just have to live with?

never heard of this complaint before. You sure there isn't something stuck in a vent or something? It's definitely in the dashboard? Which part?

after i vtec in 3rd, and start slowing down once the rpms are in the 3-5k range, is when the buzzing starts for me.

Strangely, this will continue to happen in any gear at that rpm range, until I turn off the car, and start drving again.

My '04 model has what I'd describe as a harmonic buzz "type" of sound that's manifests itself in the dashboard at between 3 and 3.5k rpm. It's not gear dependent and it's not what I'd call obtrusive but it is noticable under the right conditions.

Is this what you folks are talking about?

I've got it too...I find when the top is down, or the radio is up, then I can't hear it.

I have the same sound--just started like 2 months ago--it comes and goes, but almost exactly as you describe.

That sounds alot like the clutch buzz. It occurs exactly at those RPMs and gear choice doesn't matter.

You may be hearing the "buzz" and think it is coming from up there instead.

Unfortunately if it IS the clutch buzz, you are pretty much stuck with it - as I have been from day 1 with the car. My clutch is getting replaced on thursday, so maybe it will go away for a while. It is a mechanical feature of the car and nothing technically is wrong, but it sure is annoying!!

Good luck in your hunt,
Hockey
