A/C Compressor cutoff

Just curious...I was discussing this with a friend and he was saying that he read somewhere that there is cutoff to the A?C after a certain RPM...Is this true?

Do you happen to know what rpm that happens at? I've heard of A/C cutoffs during full throttle applications but not necessarily above a given rpm.

Just wondering?
