? on A/C open heating mode
On the Honda website it says:
"The various functions of the heating and air-conditioning system are electrically-controlled and actuated by color-keyed rotary selectors. A special open-heating mode is available for comfort when driving.
What is the "special" open-heating mode? I have had my 01' for a while and do not know anything about it or what it is.

They were big on this when I test drove the car in Phoenix. It is suppose to keep you cool/warm if you are driving with the top down during the summer/winter.
It was 112 when I drove the car.......I'm not sure if it works or not....but we drove with the top down and my hairy gumdrops still got swamp-ass-e.

Look in your owner's manual. It's really nothing special, just directs the heat to certain vents. It does seem to be the best setting though for top down. I switch between that and "face" mode to warm up my hands. The setting is on the same dial where you select defrost, feet, face etc... I think the symbol pictured for it is the one with the entire car.
The advertising section of Honda is what makes it so "special."
