The mystery:

How do you get your car's engine hydrolocked without driving it?

The answer:

Park it in the rain for a period of time with an Injen, AEM or 4IGS2000 CAI on it and then start it, or at least try to.

The reason that this happens:

There is a small hole in the fender just above the filter that the rain pours through onto the filter, then through the filter into the upturned and waiting intake tubing. If you happen to get enough water in the intake, the engine will hydrolock when it's started. Simple but deadly.

oh i see.

i didnt get that when i was reading that link.

i hope 4IG comes out with that product real soon.
will it only fit S2000's? if it fits all cars then i know there will be a huge interest for it

nopes you will flood your hood with water, if the water has no place to drain, where will it go?

the plateform of this water shield is based off our intake

any new news on this engine saver? i'm getting nervous now to even wash my engine bay thinking i will hydro lock.
