California drivers and front plates / Quick observation (long)...
I did a search on this topic and came up empty. Two somewhat related questions (and a couple sub-q's):
1) Have any of you fellow CA stook drivers risked going w/o the front plates? If so, has it been worth the risk? Any alternatives to the front plate holder?
2) If I decide to remove the front plate holder, how hard is it to replace the 'plugs' (that I still need to find and order)?
In the interest of consolidating my posts - now that I have your attention, here are a few observations I made today:
1) My sister asked me today, 'Why do you wash your car every other day?'. My immediate response was, 'Cause I love my baby and I sleep better when she is spotless.' As I kept cleaning (not a true cleaning, just a chamois rub down) and thought more about the question though, I realized that it was also because it is a great way to spend valuable time with the car w/o adding unnecessary miles (a problem I am still trying to overcome)
2) If I posted on this board every time this car put an ear to ear smile on my face I would have 5 stars already...
Excuse me if the above sounds kinda 'cheesy', but I'm 24 and have never been in love with an inanimate object before.
Thank you for your time.

My front plate has never come out of my trunk. Never gotten pulled over (South Bay). Of course, I did leave the little temp registration sticker in the lower right hand corner of the windshield. Looks better than the front plate, is easily removable and it works!

I haven't gotten a fixit ticket yet, and I've had the car since 12/00. If I got one, I would put it on to get it signed off, pay the fine, and take it off again. I can't stand having a front plate on my car. As for the plugs, just ask your dealer for them, that's what I did. All you have to say is that you never got them when you bought the car. They're the same ones that fit on all the Hondas, so they'll be quite plentiful. Taking them on and off will not be a problem.

the plugs are easy to install (to say the least) though i would love to just patch 'em.
and ed's been driving around for what... 9 months with no plates at all?

plugs are available through HandAaccessories (see sponsor banner below) Running no front plate is a no brainer. one fixit ticket, still worth it to me. ah...the price of vanity
Oh yeah, I think a bunch of us discussed this very issue in the Bay area in this thread.
