Default California Registration

Has anyone purchased a new vehicle outside California and then registered it here? DMV is telling me I cannot register a vehicle in California with less than 7500 miles. How do you get around this????

Thanks,

Derek

Nevermind.

I figured it out. Pain in the ass, though. Need vehicle smogged, verified, MSO and a power of attorney form. Not to mention the DMV paperwork.

I ran mine for two years with my company's out of state registration (had no plates on the car the whole time) and then "brought it in" to CA this past year and registered it. Worst part was the "Sales and Use Tax" which was the equivelant of paying sales tax. Good thing it wasnt on the original sale price...but still hurt the pocket book quite a bit!

What's MSO, and why a power of attorney form?

What about taxes?

Thanks.
