Calling All Baltimore/ DC Area s2000 Owners!
I bought my S from a salvaged dealer off of eBay. When re-registering the car, I found out that the previous owner was named Todd Skinner. I WhitePages.com his name and found his phone number. I called him. We talked for 45 minutes or so about the S: how long he'd had it, his set up, how it was wrecked, etc.
At the close of the conversation, he informed he that he had some parts for sale. He sent me some pics over the phone. They looked good. We agreed on a price and I was going to send him a check. Before I could hang up the phone, he insisted that I send a money order. I was very, very skeptical. I thought for a few minutes. I asked him about PayPal. He insisted that he didn't need the parts and they would be in the mail as soon as he recieved payment. Being young and foolish, I sent him the money order.
This was in April. I still haven't seen any parts. I called him about 150 times; both his house and cell. At first he would pick up and assure me that the parts were the mail. He said they had to be repackaged because he was going to send me a 6 pack of Redline Water Wetter. In June, after about 30 unanswered/ unreturned calls, he picked up and said the he had been out of town with work and his wife just had a baby. The parts are going to be put in the mail this week. Still nothing.
Do any of you know this guy? He used to own the s2000 in my signature. It has COMPTECH across the windsheild. The car has a CTSC system. When he had it, it didn't have a CF hood. Any help would be appreicated.
I have pretty much called it a loss, but thought this would be worth a shot.
Thanks.
PS- The obvious answer is go beat is ass. Unfortunately, he is from Maryland and I'm in Kentucky. Plus, I don't even know if he still resides there.
