Default Cameras like GoPro HD Hero

So basically my question is one of two:

Is there a camera like the GoPro that has a better microphone that doesn't record so much wind noise?
or
Can you hook up an external mic to the GoPro?

Thanks

Yeah, I'd say there's definitely an external mic jack. What's a good version of one of these? The 960?

You should use the sealed case if there is wind noise.

As far as mic options IIRC there is none from GOPRO at least.

A piece of painters tape over the mic cuts down a lot on wind noise.

Definitely could try that, still see'ing if there's any other options I'd rather not go ghetto style From my research the GoPro Hero HD definitely has the best video quality, but every top down video I've seen makes me wanna put it on mute from the wind

I have this problem as well.

Thinking of a separate audio-only unit at the rear and maybe the engine bay.

Put the tracks together later.

it doesn't really matter, I've tried waterproof case with both open/closed doors as well as the skeleton case with open/closed doors and they all pickup too much wind noise when mounted on the front or sides of the car. It picks up engine/exhaust/intake noise well, but when there is less of that, the wind noise gets boosted up (the gopro does some weird gain automatically)
