Can a 18 year old handle a s2k
Do you think a 18 year old can handle and be responsible with an s2k?
... that would be me.
I am pretty passive, I'm not like competitive, thinking everyone is trying to race me. But I do enjoy driving very much.

If you are very thoughtful and take great care, yes. You must respect the car at ALL times... its that one moment in which everthing can go wrong. Perhaps a driving course or two would help too... it would help a lot of folks, actually..
seriously bro...what kind of question is this??? unless we all know who you are, we can't really answer the question...
in general, 18yr olds are "bad a$$" wannabes and they typically like to street race and drive unnecessarily aggressive to look "cool" around their buddies...However, there are a lot of 18yr or even younger kids who are concerned with safety than looking cool...so...are you responsible?
im 20, bought the car when i was 19 and this was my first RWD, stick shift. People scared me off by saying you can't handle this much power with manual for the first time...this and that etc., but I can handle the car just as good as most owners, by keeping up during auto-xing and mtn drives etc.

I'm 18 and I've handled it pretty well so far...Just realize that this car bites people who don't respect it...I've been driving it for about a year and a half now and im very much still learning how to drive it...start slow and you'll be fine.
Some 18 year-olds handled fighter planes during WWII and a few survived the trial by fire. The problem is that many didn't survive and it is similar with high performance cars. The insurance rates for 18 year-old drivers are determined largely by the statistics that regrettably show that 18 year-olds are the highest risk age-group for car crashes measured per year or per mile driven. The thing about risk is that everyone at risk won't crash, but a larger fraction of 18 year-olds will than any other age group. Sadly, 19 year-old drivers show only slightly lower risk, and so on until drivers get same driving experience and grow fontal lobes. It was the same when I was 18. My advice is that you drive a safe and forgiving car for about five-years before you consider a high performance car. The problem is that few 18 year-olds have the maturity to digest and follow this advice.
Good luck and drive safely. With good judgement and practice, you will be driving cars that are far better than the current S2K, decades from now.

People who say that teenagers can't handle RWD manual cars blah blah blah; I can't stand that stuff. I had a '95 M3 when I was 16 and I've had zero problems. There are smart and stupid teenagers. Only you know which one you are.

Honestly, it really depends on the person. I know some 25 year olds that are complete idiots. Just respect the car, respect the road, and most importantly, respect others on the road, and you will be fine. The S2000 is a great car.

I'm 18 and I've managed to keep the shiny side up so far. You just need to respect the car, and ignore your dumba55 friends. Have fun, don't be stupid, and prove all those bastards wrong that swore you'd wreck it
