Default Can a spoiler be repainted?

It's a dumb question but I want to buy a silverstone oem front spoiler but I want to get it repainted new formula red. Does this cost extra for a paint shop? or would it be extra for removing the old paint and repainting it? Thanks!

The price to prep is usually in the quote when they give you the estimate.

It can be done and is done all the time.

Should be just a flat rate of about $200-300 to repaint it.

Why wouldn't you just buy the correct color to begin with? Silver is usually ok to be painted over especially by a darker color like red. Now if you wanted to go from black to white or black to silver it might take a bunch of coats or stripping off the original paint.

that doesnt make sense seeing as most urethane/abs plastic is black anyway. The answer to the OPs question is it is really down to your bodyshop. If you have a good shop, they can do it no problem - the quality is not in the paint job, but in the prep work they do. My bodyshop would charge in the region of $200 for a spoiler.

If your going for a massive color change you just prep and prime. No biggy. You might want to skim-coat/prime anyway just to remove imperfections.

Most the urethane i've seen is light blue or white and also urethane is different than paint. Also when you're painting a bare bumper/spoiler that's urethane or ABS plastic you always primer first.

anytime you paint anything that has no paint you must primer.

Red is hard color to cover over silver. Black over white or vise versa is easy.

Anyways, your original quest.

Yes you can paint it, no problem.
