Thumbs up Can you insure S2000 as a weekend car ?

I'm thinking of getting of getting a second car as a daily driver. Is there any insurance company that will insured the S2000 as a " pleasure driving " vehicle. The car will only be driving 2-3 K miles per years.
Trying to save little money. Don't want to pay "full coverage" on a vehicle that I will only drive probably 2 K miles per year.

Just tell your insurance company that you don't plan on driving more than 2-3k miles per year and they will quote you based on your usage. That's what I did with my S and my rates are low.

Weird, Allstate allows me to insure the S as pleasure use. Limits me to 8k miles a year.

yeah they do have it as 'pleasure' use, but the rate is basically unchanged from normal 'work/school' use with average mileage; sorry should have clarified.......ill blame it on FL

I have mine listed as pleasure use, you need to have more vehicles than there are drivers in the family to do this in our parts. I'm with Allstate Canada, all companies around here do it. You get a break on the rates for sure, but the S2000 is a higher rate vehicle to insure so it won't be dirt cheap. It isn't related to weekend use, just pleasure use. In the off-season when I don't drive it I take the coverage down to comprehensive only, cuts down the cost further.

I think these rules all vary by state and are set by the state for all insurers to follow, within that state.

State Farm in Tx will let you do this, I currently have my S insured this way. I do not carry full coverage on it.
