Canadian S2000 Brochure!
Although yellow is rare, those that will buy yellow are probably the rarest group of buyers. My local dealer still has a new '01 yellow that has been in the showroom for 2 months! I personally think yellow looks fabulous on an S2000, but chose a more discreet color ('cause I'm an old fart).
I have a black/red, but I really, really really wanted a White/red....
Then I went to Montreal and saw a white/red with Quebec plates??? I was so upset.
I wonder if this car was specially imported or was specially available somehow? Anyone know?
Or maybe I should ask one of our American neighbors for a trade!

There are, as I understand it, 3 whites in Canada. They were given by Honda to the Montreal Grand Prix in June to be used as Pace Cars. The cars were then auctioned off to lucky buyers at the end of the event. I too, wish I had a white, but do not regret the purchase of my *rare* yellow

So basically these 3 whites were rung out on the track to death before they were most likely broken in and driven by professional drivers very hard?
Ummmm on second thought, maybe not.
Anyone know the regulations on importing one from the US? But to be honest, I think with the Canadian Dollar, we get cheaper S2000's here in Canada.

Louie: Not surprised there are so few in SK, considering the population and it being known for a farming demographic. Not to many farmers around me either with sports cars.
Heck in fact I thought Honda Gal was the only one in the province with one
Allen: I hear ya, up here its very rare. Like hens teeth, however 2 months in the showroom isn't very long up here. Its bad for the dealer but its not any news for an S2K. Good for the buyer who has 53k (MSRP) on hand. Plus it comes with a hard top up here.
Asif: Just cause we spent a lot of time looking for Spa's doesn't mean we're strange
. Its like hunting. Heck that might be why they don't sell many up here..would scare the deer during hunting season?

Having the need to import a vehicle from the US to Canada (wifes van) I can explain some of the horrors.
You need to pay the tax on it, and thats on the Canadian blue book value. Scary. The cost of the van here was I think $45k at the time, she paid $23 USD for it...needless to say it wasn't my favorite thing.
I almost think it is never worthwhile bringing a vehicle in from the US unless its something rare and you have to have it or I don't know what. I'd never want to do it again.
However I see lots of people from the US coming up here and buying vehicles (lightly used)...now you have to have a Canadian address to buy a vehicle here so I'm not quite sure how it works. I think you only get a deal if the vehicle is made here as well.
So much for FREE trade.
