Thumbs up Can't decide: 09 GPW or 07 NFR: Input

Just curious if you experts have any input.

I've located an 09 GPW, and they are selling it just above invoice (although I'm still questioning how they think they are going to sell these 09s at his price)

I've also located an 07 NBR with 37 K miles, and it is selling for 2K below NADA.

I'd welcome any input here.

As of right now, I'm leaning to the 07 simply becuase I can't justify in my mind how a new one is worth pretty much 12K more than an 07.

The only drawback, if there is one, is that the used car isn't for sale with Honda's Certified Used Program, it's at Car Max. I have had good experience with Car Max, and it appears to be a one-owner car by the Car Max checker (like CarFax, but not CarFax).

What do you guys think?

lol, yeah GPW/Red would be my first choice.

I just don't know if it's worth 12K to put your theory to the test.

Plus the red one has the aero. Tht aero plus some mods like small stickers (like a skull or maybe "top always down" on the windscreen) have to account for at least 15 WHP.

it's not worth 12k difference, but i'd get an 09. look at other dealers.

look around and drive to get the car. try internet quotes. if you have to do a weekend trip to save a few grand, do it.

Definitely shop around more, the dealer is dreaming if they think they can sell that above invoice in the current market.

There are plenty of good low mileage ones around, just take your time to make sure you get the right one, then you will not be disappointed.

Total BUYERS market - I would be looking used because the deals on exceptional cars are just to inviting to walk away from. After tax dollars just don't grow on trees like they used to. The financial metric that really gets me though is what will the car be worth 5 minutes after taking delivery - thats a frightening thought when its my money at risk! However, if you plan on buying out of pocket cash on the table (or under) then treat yourself to whichever rocks your world .. And be happy knowing that even at showroom pricing the car is still a bargain compared to its German rivals.

I suppose it depends on how long you keep your car and the miles you drive. 37K miles is a lot to me and you have no idea how it was cared for. And there are too many horror stories even with CPO'd cars.

they do stay "on message" when discussing pricing with an 09

Their message is always "hard to find" or "limited production" and now "last year of the car."

sola77 makes a good point, what's any car worth when you take the keys and drive off....
