Ok, I have a 2001 GPW S2000. I am doing the 04 front bumper and head light conversion this weekend. I want to get some new emblems but I'm torn between getting the red/black Rick S badges, the red JDM badges or the black chrome badges. What do you guys think? I'm leaning towards the Rick badges..

One more thing, do all of the Honda badges fit on the 00-05 front bumpers or did the size change on the 04-05 bumpers?

The 04-05 badges have a different hole dimension than previous years. Make sure if you decide to go with OEM H emblems that you specify the model year. Pretty sure you already know that the JDM badges do not fit the OEM holes.

I would go for the JDM badge (any color combo) over the Rick's "S" badge.

 

I'm not gonna comment on which one you should get, but I can help with the stock emblem size.

'00-'01- smaller "H", about the same size as the past geration Civic.
'02-'05- larger "H", about the size of the current generation Civic.

The mounting peg spacing is the same for all the years, but the newer ones use star washers to hold it to the bumper, along with tape.

 

'03 and '04 have the same part number for the front emblem. How did you find this out?

I'm was referring to the distance between pegs on the emblem.

If it's the same part # then I was told wrong.

Either way......go with the JDM badges which are smaller than OEM anyway.

 

 

 

JDM badges are smaller than the '02 badges, but larger than the '00 badges. They are in between the two in size.

 

I think your car looks better without any emblems on it. If anything you should just put an emblem on the backside..Just my opinion though.

 

The black chrome emblems look nice on GPW. If you go that route just get the front and back emblems. The "S2000" logo in black chrome is only a few shades darker than your stock side emblem. And the side "S2000" emblems are a bitch to take off. Actually, the emblems come off easy with dental floss. It's the residue from the adhesive that's still on your fender that's a pain in the ass to remove.

Whatever you do, get a can of 3M adhesive remover. It helps take off the remaining adhesive after you pull off the emblems.
