Default Can't hear the stock stereo

I'm just wondering, is it me or is the stock stereo pretty much useless at highway speeds, even with the top up. To hear it, I have to turn it up loud enough so that it, the wind, and engine make a harsh and discordant sound.

Sometimes I long for a nice, quiet Accord Hybrid, plenty of room, silence, luxury, power, gas mileage, and I can listen to soothing AM talk radio on the long and desolate highway.

I love talk radio, if you've ever heard the Nick Digilio show on 720 WGN Am radio, you'd know what I mean. It's on Fri and Sat starting at 12:00 am EST.

I can hear mine just fine top up or down until the wastegate opens up The stock stereo is garbage though, definitely going to upgrade at some point.

Get a decent head unit, Modifry's DCI and a couple of 6.5" speakers. Makes a world of difference.

I got an Acura mostly because of noise, and I must say that I was not satisfied one bit. I've also read in magazines that Honda, generally speaking, is BAD about interior noise levels. Compare the Accord to the Camry. Compare TSX to IS. Compare anything Honda to anything Toyota, and I think you will see a trend. Honda may have gotton better since 2002, but nonetheless, test drive at interstate speeds before you buy.

That being said...I'd like to ask about an inexpensive stereo upgrade "direction" I'd like to go. In order not to hijack THIS thread, those interested can go to This Link

Thanks.

Check out the electronics forum for all the radio stuff you can handle, and in the interim, max the treble and bass in the radio, and the adjust to taste, and you'll get an extra few decibles out of the oem. Basically, the radio is weak, and the speakers are cheap.
