i prefer canvas, it was in my miata... the vinyl actually makes me feel somewhat cheap and not classy... sorry guys... i know ppl will get offended by that comment but i really just like the canvas feel better.

Canvas may look a little better but it terms of care... no contest. Canavas is a pain in the ass.

whats the difference in caring for the tops???? if i garage my car would any one recommend a canvas top?

I don't know the difference as far as care but the BMW convertibles all use canvas for their top material and from what I have seen many of the other luxury and sport manufacturers.

What's the cost comparison between aftermarket vinyl/canvas and oem? What's the quality difference?

If you garage your car, dont live in harsh climates (leaving your car in the elements), and dont mind caring for it, I recommend the canvas.

I upgraded to the canvas robbin's top with the glass rear window. My top is noticeably darker than even brand new OEM tops. Canvas is not that hard to care for...just like anything else. If you take care of it, it will reward you with a much nicer appearance than vinyl.

yea... here in california the weather's not really harsh... i remember my miata's top was noticable darker compared to the vinyl oems... and i just kept it clean with soap and water... i didnt spray anything on it

incidentally my 93 celica convertible's top got slashed by some jackass and i switched over to canvas top... it was excellent quality.
