Default car alarm question

Guys,

I thought I didn't have an alarm on the car (not sure). I usually press the lock button once and release it. I tested by reaching over the door and unlock the door but nothing occurred.

Anyways, this morning when I parked at work, I held the lock button on the fob for a while and heard a horn sound and the part of the lights near the headlight blink.

Do I have an alarm?

Tnt

The Viper alarms are very popular, but they are expensive.
