Why is 0-60 benchmarked on cars the most. If its marketed as a sports car, why not benchmark 60-120? Or 40-100?

Because even 100mph is illegal on almost every public road in the country. The 0-60 metric goes back decades to when 60 was largely the national speed limit and cars weren't traction limited under 60mph. Things have changed now, but the metric remains largely the same.

It gives you an idea of how the car is able to put it's power down. Just one of many metrics.

We have a drag racing culture, stop light to stop light racing and people buy into it. Just like the HP number instead of power to weight.

This was a good read. I think I've read all the C&D stuff on the S2000. Even when it was rated as a car to drive before you die. Check that box folks!

I never seen this article. Does anyone have the link to the 2006 S2000 review where they pulled a 13.8 quarter. I think it was Road and track magazine or something. I searched and never found it.
