Default Car and Driver Hypocrisy

This evening while enjoying some private reading time in my personal basement throne room, I discovered a most interesting thing in this most disgusting of C&D issues. Not only have they published a horrible review but they have further embarrassed themselves

I don't get your problem with that comparison either.

Watch out for those paper cuts. I imagine they can get infected pretty quickly down there.

Ya, perhaps you misread. It appears to be an S2k compliment.

Did you guys miss all the posts complaining about the 350Z, Mustang Mach 1, S2000 WITH hardtop, 180hp Audi TT sport coupe comparison? You know, the one where the S2000 with a hardtop came in third behind the 350Z and the Mustang?

If both articles appeared in the same issue, then why the hell didn't they mention the Z and the Mustang as options when complaining about a 30K RSX? Instead they recommend the S2000 (I assume without the hardtop) while simultaneously bashing it in another part of the same issue(with a hardtop).

I haven't read either of these articles, but I assume this inspired the poll.

Neither the 350Z or Mustang are made by Honda. The S2000 and RSX are. Hence the comparison. Why buy a modded RSX when you can get an S2000 for a few grand more was what they said. I don't see the problem. Man, people are sure pissy lately about what car journalists say.

I get exactly what you're talking about. Car and Driver is written by morons, pure and simple.

Guys, he's saying this... Let's saying they were talking about a Mercedes C320, and then with special options added on, the magazine says, "But why get the C320 when you get an SLK for a little bit more?" Get it? They lack logic.

The RSX is a FWD 4 seater coupe while the S2000 is 2 seater convertable. The idiots are comparing apples and oranges, much like they did with their stupid Mach 1, 350z, S2000 & TT test.

I agree with this assessment, but my analysis was based upon the title of this thread, "Car and Driver Hypocrisy". There is nothing inherently hypocritical about comparing an apple to an orange.

Maybe they should have used that RSX in the comparison instead of putting a hardtop on the S.
